Egg Production

The commercial egg production process is both efficient and promotes egg safety. In the hen houses, most hens lay one egg each day. Those eggs drop automatically from the hens’ cages to a conveyor belt. The conveyor belt moves the eggs directly from the hen house to the egg processing room within hours. As soon as the eggs roll into the processing room, they are washed, visually inspected and graded for packaging for you to purchase at the supermarket or order at your favorite restaurant.

To see the process step by step, navigate around our farm tour. You can use the controls at the bottom of the picture or move your mouse over the picture while holding down the left mouse button. Clicking the green UEP Certified checks will provide detailed information on the hen houses, processing and packaging.
